Dr Michael Wright spoke with the Sydney Morning Herald in January about the urgent need for increased investment in Medicare and GP consultation items. After decades of underfunding of patient rebates, we need an urgent reinvestment in Medicare to support bulk billing and to reduce out-of-pocket costs for patients who are being built privately.
